n spite of the progress Ghana has made in improving access to education for all, there are still challenges preventing thousands of children from going to school and learning.
Furniture for Schools
Furniture deficit coupled with other infrastructural challenges have been identified as a major cause of poor education at the basic school level in the country. Most of the pupils lie on their stomachs to write whenever they are required to do so.
It is not uncommon to find multiple students crowded into a single desk, sitting on benches, or sitting on the floor without a place to take notes.
T
eachers without a table will place teaching materials on a student’s desk. Primary schools are particularly challenged to provide accommodations for more students with fewer resources, and the government has not been able to ensure each school has the necessary pieces of classroom furniture.

There is no need for any luxury equipment; the children simply need a bench and a chair wher comfortably performing their learning.
